Adeleke's Camp Proposes Honours for Violence Victims

The Imole Campaign Council has proposed state honours and official recognition for victims of electoral violence in Osun State, emphasizing the sacrifices made by supporters of Governor Ademola Adeleke during his re-election campaign. In a statement by spokesman Pelumi Olajengbesi, the council alleged that several members of the Accord Party and grassroots supporters of Adeleke have been killed, injured, abducted, or detained due to their political affiliation.

Specific cases mentioned include Kolade Eluyera, killed in Ikire on May 8, 2026; Ezekiel Olapade, murdered in Ilobu on June 21, 2026; and Ajayi Rogba, killed in Ẹsa-Òkè on June 23, 2026. The council also reported over 100 campaign coordinators and supporters have been arrested recently.

The council condemned the persecution of its members and urged the Nigeria Police Force to act impartially. They stated that while no recognition could equal the victims' losses, those who made significant sacrifices deserve state honours.
