Oyewumi Condemns Attacks on Accord Party Leaders in Osun

Senator Lere Oyewumi, the Director General of the Imole Campaign Council and Osun West Senator, condemned the attacks on the homes of several leaders of the Accord Party on the eve of the Osun State governorship election. He described these incidents as unwarranted, cowardly, and unacceptable.

Following reports of political violence and vandalism, Oyewumi conducted an on-the-spot assessment of affected residences in Ikire and Ikoyi, including the homes of Ambali Kondo, Owodunni Abiodun, Taofeeq Ajagun, Akinola Paul, Festus Adeyemo, Alhaji Lateef, and Nureni Owoade. He expressed sympathy for the victims and stressed that political differences should not lead to violence or intimidation.

Oyewumi called for the identification and prosecution of those responsible for the attacks and urged community members to remain peaceful. He emphasized that democracy relies on tolerance and respect for differing opinions, asserting that violence has no place in a democratic society.
