Momodu Defends Support for Adeleke Amid Wike's Claims

Veteran journalist and publisher Dele Momodu addressed comments made by Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, regarding his support for Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke. In a post on X, Momodu clarified that he is not in competition with anyone over his political stance and that his support for Adeleke is grounded in the governor's performance, not personal or financial motivations.

Wike had previously stated that Adeleke is aligned with his political camp and is fully backing President Bola Tinubu for the 2027 elections. He criticized the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for claiming credit for Adeleke's victory.

Wike also indicated that the political landscape is evolving, predicting broader alliances in support of Tinubu. Momodu traced his connection to Ile-Ife, where he was born on May 16, 1960, and emphasized that his ties to Osun State predate the current political contest.
