FG Sends Delegation to Assess Oye-Ekiti Road Condition

Following a report by the Nigerian Tribune on the severe condition of the Oye-Ekiti–Ilupeju–Kabba road in Ekiti State, the Federal Government has taken action to address the situation. On Monday, Minister of Works Engr Dave Umahi announced that senior officials from the Ministry of Works would visit the road on Tuesday for an immediate assessment.

The report highlighted the plight of motorists and articulated vehicle operators who have faced prolonged delays due to the collapse of critical sections of the road. Umahi assured that the government is committed to intervening and improving the road conditions.

He stated that the Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, would lead the delegation of senior directors and engineers to inspect the road and recommend necessary actions. The Oye-Ekiti–Ilupeju–Kabba corridor is vital for linking communities in Ekiti and Kogi States and is essential for the transport of goods and agricultural produce.
