Nsik Oil & Gas Receives Equipment for CNG Buses in Akwa Ibom

The Akwa Ibom State government is preparing to launch 50 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses to alleviate transportation issues. Nsik Oil & Gas Company Limited has received its first shipment of equipment for a CNG Mother Station, capable of processing 10 million standard cubic feet per day, located in Uquo Isi Edoho, Esit Eket Local Government Area.
Dr. Aniekan Umanah, the Commissioner for Information, indicated that the launch was postponed due to incomplete gas filling stations. However, Mr. Mkposong Asuquo, the Project Consultant, expressed optimism about the project's progress following the arrival of equipment from CIMC in China, which includes compressors and filtration units.
The project is a partnership between Nsik Oil & Gas Company Limited, led by Managing Director/CEO Mr. Nsikan Johnny, and the Midstream and Downstream Gas Infrastructure Fund, supervised by the Ministry of Petroleum Resources. The equipment has been cleared and transported to the site, marking a significant step towards establishing a broader CNG distribution network in the state.
