Nsik Oil & Gas Receives CNG Equipment for Akwa Ibom Station
The first consignment of equipment for a 10 million standard cubic feet per day (10 MMSCF/D) Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Mother Station at Uquo Isi Edoho, Esit Eket Local Government Area, has arrived in Akwa Ibom State. The equipment, manufactured by China-based CIMC, includes compressors, dehydration and filtering units, heat exchangers, and generating sets, and was received by Nsik Oil & Gas Company Limited.
This delivery signifies a major milestone towards the project's commissioning and the establishment of a broader CNG distribution network in the state. Project Consultant Mr. Mkposong Asuquo stated that the facility aims to utilize pipeline gas available nearby, located approximately 500 meters from Frontier Energy and three kilometers from Savannah Energy’s Accugas facility.
The shipment followed a successful Factory Acceptance Test in China. The project is a partnership between Nsik Oil & Gas Company Limited, led by Managing Director/CEO Mr. Nsikan Johnny, and the Midstream and Downstream Gas Infrastructure Fund (MDGIF), supervised by the Ministry of Petroleum Resources.
The project includes plans for gas transportation and smaller distribution points to enhance accessibility for consumers.
