Ogun Government Thanks LASEMA for Building Collapse Response

The Ogun State Government expressed gratitude towards the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) for their assistance in the search and recovery operation after a building collapse at Baale Road, OGS Bus Stop, Ajuwon. The incident occurred on Monday, prompting immediate emergency response activation by Governor Dapo Abiodun.

Various agencies, including the Ogun State Emergency Management Agency, the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, and the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, were deployed to the scene. Heavy equipment, including two payloaders, one heavy-duty excavator, and ten dumper trucks, were utilized to expedite the recovery efforts.

Recognizing the incident's proximity to Lagos, the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development contacted LASEMA for additional support, leading to their arrival on Tuesday, July 28. By then, Ogun State officials had already conducted over 18 hours of continuous operations.

The Ogun State Government also acknowledged the contributions of Hon. Kusimo Idris Olalekan, the Executive Chairman of Ifo Local Government, for his support during the emergency.
