Akume Praises Tinubu for Supporting Democracy in Osun

On Thursday, during a courtesy visit to the national headquarters of the City Boy Movement in Abuja, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) George Akume praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for fostering a democratic environment in Osun State. Akume stated that Tinubu did not interfere in the recent electoral process, which he believes is a significant improvement over past practices.

He noted that this approach reflects a respect for the independence of democratic institutions. Akume also mentioned that Tinubu is pursuing various reforms aimed at economic rebuilding, including initiatives in taxation, education, healthcare, agriculture, and women empowerment.

He specifically pointed out the move towards a unified tax system and the establishment of specialized hospitals. Akume urged Nigerians to view the country's diversity as an asset and encouraged members of the City Boy Movement to communicate the administration's achievements.

Shoga Francis, the movement's Director-General, announced plans to mobilize 10 million young Nigerians for the 2027 elections.
