Akwa Ibom Approves N1.6 Billion Transport Refunds for Civil Service Job Applicants

Akwa Ibom State has approved N1.6 billion for transport refunds to 33,461 civil service job applicants who participated in a recent computer-based test. Governor Udom Emmanuel granted the approval to alleviate the financial burden on applicants.

The refunds amount to N50,000 per applicant. The state aims to enhance transparency in the recruitment process and provide alternative pathways for unsuccessful applicants through vocational training programs.

Successful candidates will receive employment letters by March 2026.
