Akwa Ibom State Government Allocates N1bn for Lawmakers' Vehicles in 2025 Budget

The Akwa Ibom State Government has budgeted over N1 billion for the purchase and maintenance of 26 vehicles for members of the State House of Assembly in the 2025 fiscal year. The budget details were contained in the state's approved 2025 budget document.

The allocation covers vehicles for lawmakers, while zero naira was allocated for constituency development projects. The government had already spent N1.6 billion on 30 SUVs for the office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and budgeted an additional N6 billion for luxury vehicles.

Governor Umo Eno recently presented a brand new Toyota Land Cruiser to the former Deputy Governor of the state.
