Police Investigate Alleged Assault of Baby in Ogun School

On March 18, an incident involving the alleged assault of an eight-month-old baby at a private school in Ogun State has led to a police investigation. The child's mother, Gloria Umukoro, had left her baby at the school while completing an examination.

After approximately 30 minutes, the school principal, Mr. Kored Afuy, returned the child to Umukoro, who noticed her baby was restless and had wetness around her leg.

Upon further inspection, Umukoro discovered her baby was bleeding and had visible bruising. She confronted the school management, particularly Mr.

Afuy, who was the last person to handle the child before the injuries were noticed. Despite the school's assurances, Umukoro insisted on reporting the matter to the authorities due to her child's condition.

The Ogun State Police Command has since referred the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation, specifically to the gender unit, to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
