Anambra Launches New Transparency Model for Public Services

Anambra State has launched a new transparency model aimed at strengthening public service delivery through the State Service Delivery Transparency Initiative (SSDTI). Dr.

Josephine Onah explained that this initiative marks a shift from traditional anti-corruption approaches, focusing on direct benefits to citizens. The SSDTI establishes service standards backed by multiple layers of oversight to ensure that ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) deliver quality services.

The initiative aims to provide tangible improvements in government services, ensuring citizens genuinely feel the impact of efforts against corruption. The pilot institutions selected include Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital and Okpuno Primary Health Centre, which have already begun implementing service charters.

The initiative is coordinated by the RoLAC Programme, emphasizing the need for continuous monitoring and accountability in the healthcare sector to prevent negligence and its potentially fatal consequences.
