Anambra Launches Innovation District to Boost Jobs

Anambra State is set to unlock job opportunities through the launch of the Innovation District (SID), as announced by Ifeoma Ejiofor, the special adviser to Governor Charles Soludo on innovation and business incubation. This initiative is part of Governor Soludo's second-term development agenda, aiming to position Anambra as a key player in the global digital economy.

Chinwe Okoli, the Chief Executive Officer of SID, stated that the next phase will focus on expanding digital infrastructure, supporting startups, and strengthening the innovation ecosystem to create technology-driven employment opportunities for the youth. SID has already established a foundation for digital skill development and plans to intensify its efforts to reach more beneficiaries.

Okoli disclosed that several business process outsourcing (BPO) firms are preparing to establish operations in Anambra, which is expected to recruit young professionals and enhance job creation. The initiative aims to attract investments, encourage innovation, and improve Anambra's competitiveness in the global technology landscape.
