Anambra State Advances Peace Through Boundary Resolution

During a review meeting in Awka, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, the Deputy Governor of Anambra State and Chairman of the Anambra State Boundary Committee, emphasized the importance of resolving boundary disputes through dialogue. This initiative aligns with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s vision for peaceful coexistence among communities.

The committee is currently focused on boundary monumentation for communities such as Eboitenani Umuoji, Mgbachu Nkpor, Agbudu Nando, Igbariam, Ndikelionwu, and Amaokpala. Mr. Ekenechukwu Okoye, the Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Boundary Matters, reported significant progress in resolving inter-community and interstate disputes, restoring stability in areas like Ikem-Ivite, Aguleri, Agbaja Anaku, Akpi-Umuoka, Omor, Akamanato, Nando, and Dagama.

The committee is committed to prioritizing mediation and dialogue to strengthen relationships and enhance grassroots security. Community representatives expressed appreciation for the committee's efforts and urged for the swift completion of boundary demarcation and monumentation.
