Anambra State Approves Army Brigade for Enhanced Security

Anambra State has secured approval to establish an Army Brigade as part of a new military format aimed at enhancing security across the state. Governor Charles Soludo disclosed this initiative during the third anniversary celebration of the Anambra State House of Assembly, which coincided with the June 12 Democracy Day commemoration in Awka.

The establishment of the brigade will involve the construction of barracks and the deployment of hundreds of soldiers to support ongoing efforts to combat crime and maintain public safety. Governor Soludo noted that this measure is part of a broader strategy to strengthen security in Anambra and sustain the state's gains in the fight against crime.

He also highlighted the importance of inter-agency collaboration and intelligence gathering to tackle security threats, including kidnapping and armed robbery. Additionally, Soludo acknowledged the progress made in Nigeria's electoral process and emphasized the need to continue strengthening democratic institutions.
