Nigerian Government Launches Third Phase Employment Initiative

The Anambra State Coordinator of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Pastor Don Anaba, announced the commencement of the third phase of the Federal Government's employment initiative aimed at addressing unemployment. Unemployed youths across Anambra's 326 political wards are encouraged to register for the program.

The initiative, unveiled by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Mohammed Maigari Dingyadi, in Abuja, is part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. It aims to equip participants with practical skills in over 70 vocational and entrepreneurial trades, enhancing employability and promoting self-reliance.

Successful applicants will receive resettlement support, including starter packs and work tools, to help them establish businesses. The minister emphasized a fair selection process from Nigeria’s 8,809 political wards to ensure equitable distribution of opportunities.

He acknowledged previous delays in stipend payments and resettlement package distributions due to funding constraints but assured that efforts are underway to resolve these issues. Registration is free and can be done online through the NDE portal.
