Anglican Church Elects Four New Bishops in Port Harcourt

The Church Nigeria Anglican Communion has elected four new bishops to lead dioceses across the country following the conclusion of the Episcopal Synod held at Saviour's Chapel, University of Port Harcourt. The announcement was made on Thursday by the Primate of the Church Nigeria, Rev.

Henri Ndukuba, who presided over the synod's deliberations. The bishops elected are Ven.

Dr. Godwin Tersoo Simon for the Diocese of Makurdi, Ven.

Dr. Kingslei Ogbonda for the Diocese of Uyo, Ven.

Dr. Julius Oyediran for the Diocese of Ekiti, and Ven.

Dr. Olayemi Fatusi for the Diocese of Awori.

The consecration of the bishops is scheduled to take place during the General Synod of the Church Nigeria, which is set to be held in September. The elected bishops will assume spiritual oversight of their respective dioceses, with a focus on advancing evangelism and strengthening the Anglican Communion within their jurisdictions.

The Primate has called on members of the church to support the bishops with prayers.
