APC and Accord Party Clash Over Osogbo Flyover Cracks

The All Progressives Congress (APC) and Accord Party (AP) have engaged in a heated exchange of accusations over cracks found on the newly inaugurated Lameco flyover in Osogbo. The APC's Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, stated that the party had previously raised concerns about the N20 billion flyover project being awarded to an unqualified engineer.

The APC warned that the structural issues observed within two weeks of commissioning could indicate deeper problems, urging intervention from professional bodies such as the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and others to prevent potential disasters from sub-standard infrastructure. In response, Pastor Victor Akande, the chairman of the AP, accused the APC of vandalizing the flyover, describing it as a calculated attempt to undermine the achievements of the current administration ahead of the upcoming governorship election.

The AP condemned the alleged destruction of public infrastructure and called for a thorough investigation by security agencies to hold those responsible accountable.
