APC Chairman Meets Emir Sanusi in Kano Palace Visit

On August 22, 2026, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), conducted a closed-door meeting with Emir Khalifa Muhammadu Sanusi II at the historic Rumfa Palace in Kano. This visit occurred shortly after the Emir returned from Abuja and was characterized as a courtesy visit.

Muhammad Dallatu, a close associate of the Emir, confirmed the meeting but stated that the details of their discussions were not disclosed due to the private nature of the engagement. Kano is a politically significant state in northern Nigeria, with a large voting population, and the meeting follows the APC's strengthened position in the state after the defection of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and members of the Kwankwasiyya political camp to the party.
