APC Denies Pulling 2027 Campaign Council List Amid Composition Row

The All Progressives Congress has rejected claims that it removed the 2027 presidential campaign council roster from circulation, with party officials characterizing the reports as unfounded gossip rather than legitimate news. Felix Morka, the party's national publicity secretary, told journalists on Tuesday that any formal modifications to the list would be announced through official channels, not spread as rumour.

The campaign council, unveiled on Saturday, names President Bola Tinubu as chairman, with Vice President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda positioned as vice chairs. Senator Abdulaziz Yari, a former Zamfara State governor, serves as director-general, while Hope Uzodimma, the Imo State governor, holds the secretary position.

However, behind-the-scenes sources within the presidency and party apparatus suggest Tinubu has initiated a review of the council's membership structure, citing concerns about individuals facing corruption-related scrutiny and the exclusion of experienced party figures. According to these reports, the president postponed the council's formal inauguration pending adjustments to the composition, though key leadership roles are expected to remain unchanged.

The roster has drawn criticism since its public release, with party members and observers questioning both the inclusion and omission of certain names. Morka's statement that any updates would be formally communicated represents the party's public position, even as internal deliberations over the list's final form continue.
