APC Rejects ₦800 Billion Allegation Against Uzodimma

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed allegations claiming that Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma diverted ₦800 billion from campaign funds. The party described these allegations as spurious and baseless, asserting that they are politically motivated, particularly in light of Uzodimma's interest in contesting the Imo East senatorial seat in 2027.

APC's national vice chairman for the southeast, Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu, stated that the claims are a form of campaign blackmail against Uzodimma, who is accused of misappropriating funds meant for the presidential campaign of Bola Tinubu. Arodiogbu emphasized that there is no formal campaign fund established as elections have not yet commenced, and the Progress Governor Forum is not a campaign organization.

He labeled the alleged figure of ₦800 billion as unrealistic, noting that 31 APC governors contributed only ₦26 billion to the campaign. The party urged the opposition to focus on credible policy alternatives rather than engaging in fictitious propaganda.
