APC Governorship Primaries Criticized as Democratic Mockery

Professor Moham Sani Haruna, popularly known as Sarkin Sharifai, condemned the All Progressives Congress (APC) for its recent governorship primaries in Nasarawa State, describing the exercise as a mockery of democracy and a deeply flawed process. Haruna, a former executive vice chairman of NASENI, expressed his concerns in a statement released by his media aide, Peter Ewu.

He rejected the results announced by the chairman of the electoral committee, Senator Ahm Aliyu Wadada, alleging widespread irregularities, voter suppression, and manipulation of figures favoring preferred candidates. Haruna claimed that electoral officials were deployed across several parts of the state, compromising the credibility of the process.

He reported that many party members were unable to participate due to a lack of electoral materials, leading to frustration and disenfranchisement. Haruna urged the APC's national secretariat to cancel the primaries and conduct fresh, transparent elections.

Despite grievances, he called for peaceful political engagement ahead of the 2027 general elections.
