Ganduje Denies Defection to New Democratic Congress

Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the former governor of Kano State, issued a statement on Friday in Abuja, dismissing fake posters circulating on social media that alleged his defection to the New Democratic Congress (NDC). Ganduje described these posters as a calculated campaign of misinformation designed to mislead the public and create confusion among supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He emphasized that he remains committed to the APC, which he described as Nigeria's largest political party, enjoying significant acceptance across the country. Ganduje also stated that the claims of his defection lack political logic and warned that unless the defamatory materials are withdrawn immediately, appropriate legal action would be taken against those responsible.

He urged APC members and the general public to disregard the posters, asserting that they do not reflect his political position or intent. Ganduje reaffirmed his commitment to work under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to strengthen the APC and its agenda.
