Kano APC Denies Defection Claims by Kwankwasiyya Movement

The Kano State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) issued a statement on Wednesday, refuting claims made by the Kwankwasiyya Movement that members from Kumbotso Local Government Area had defected to the National Democratic Congress (NDC). Auwalu Soja, the APC's spokesperson, emphasized that the party remains firmly rooted in Kumbotso and dismissed the allegations as a diversionary tactic by the Kwankwasiyya Movement.

He stated that the claims of defections were baseless and aimed at creating confusion. Soja highlighted ongoing infrastructure projects in the area, including the AKK gas pipeline and the Kaduna-Kano-Maradi standard gauge railway, which he credited to the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

The APC urged residents to disregard the reports circulating on social media and insisted that the party remains a strong and united entity. In response, Dr.

Habibu Sale Moham of the Kwankwasiyya Movement maintained that defections from the APC to the NDC were indeed occurring across the state.
