APC Launches Campaign for Osun Governorship Election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) inaugurated its national campaign council on Tuesday for the Osun State governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026, declaring the election a "must-win" for the party. The inauguration took place in Abuja, led by APC National Chairman Prof.

Nentawe Yilwatda. He emphasized the importance of this election as a crucial test for the party's readiness for the 2027 general elections.

The 276-member campaign council is chaired by Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Mr. Hope Uzodimma.

Yilwatda stated that the council was formed to mobilize the necessary resources for victory, highlighting the APC's extensive political structures and grassroots network. He described the Osun election as a rehearsal for the upcoming general elections, asserting that winning it is essential for the APC.

The campaign will include intensive person-to-person and house-to-house outreach, involving governors and elected officials from across Nigeria to engage with every community in Osun State.
