APC Treasurer Matthew Uguru Denies Gubernatorial Ambition

Matthew Uguru, the national treasurer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), issued a statement on Thursday, firmly denying reports that he intended to join the gubernatorial race in Ebonyi State. He described the claims as fictitious and malicious fabrications aimed at creating tension within the party, particularly among stakeholders in the Izzi clan.

Uguru emphasized that he has not purchased a nomination form to contest against the incumbent governor, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, who remains the sole aspirant for the APC in the upcoming gubernatorial elections. The statement, signed by Albert Oketa on behalf of Uguru, warned against the spread of false information that could undermine party unity and mislead the public.

Uguru reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC and stressed the importance of focusing on his duties as national treasurer, urging party members and the general public to disregard the misleading reports.
