APC Excludes 6 Senatorial, 19 Reps Candidates from INEC List

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has excluded six senatorial and 19 House of Representatives candidates from its final list submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). This decision affects constituencies across several states, including Abia, Kogi, Taraba, Benue, Ebonyi, Ondo, Kaduna, Niger, and Kwara.

The list was revised following recommendations from the party's primary election appeal committee after the primary elections held in May 2026. The letter detailing these changes was jointly signed by APC National Chairman Nentaw Yilwatda and National Secretary Ajibola Basiru.

The party's focus is now on ensuring that candidates complete their documentation before the INEC deadline. Notable candidates who received candidacy affidavit forms include Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau.

The APC has received 700 petitions from aggrieved members regarding the primaries and is working to finalize its candidate list for public release.
