APC Denies Allegations of PVC Collection in Gombe

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State has dismissed allegations made by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that Governor Inuwa Yahaya's administration is unlawfully collecting Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), bank details, and biometric information from residents via government empowerment programs. APC's state Publicity Secretary, Murtala-Usman Tale, issued a statement on Thursday, asserting that the allegations are “baseless, unfounded and politically motivated.” He emphasized that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is solely responsible for issuing and managing PVCs, and any government program requiring personal information should not be misconstrued as electoral manipulation.

The APC challenged the PDP to provide credible evidence of any unlawful collection or misuse of personal information. The ruling party accused the PDP of relying on political rhetoric instead of proposing viable alternatives for Gombe residents.

The APC reaffirmed its commitment to infrastructure development and economic empowerment, stating that misinformation will not distract the administration from its responsibilities.
