APC Women and Youth Protest 'Fake' Candidate List in Ondo

On a Monday in Akure, Ondo State, members of the APC Women and Youth Progress Congress staged a protest against Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, blocking his convoy. The demonstrators claimed that a list of candidates for the House of Representatives released by the APC national secretariat was 'fake' and did not reflect the results of the primary elections held the previous month.

Protesters carried placards with messages such as "Don't want imposition" and "Let votes count." Mr. Seun Osamay, the state commissioner for women affairs and social development, described the circulated candidate list as fake, asserting it did not represent the mandate of party members across Ondo State's 203 wards.

Mr. Bright Ojo, the state youth leader, labeled the situation a "democratic coup," expressing concern over the integrity of the electoral process and calling for respect for the people's votes.
