APC Seeks Senator Hanga's Defection Amid Kwankwaso Tensions

The All Progressives Congress (APC) is intensifying efforts to persuade Senator Rufai Sani Hanga to defect from the Kwankwasiyya Movement, led by Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. This appeal was made on Tuesday during a courtesy visit to Hanga's residence by APC chieftains, including Salisu Maje Gwangwazo, the party's vice chairman in Kano State.

Gwangwazo emphasized that Hanga deserves better treatment, considering his long-standing loyalty and sacrifices for Kwankwaso. He pointed out that Kwankwaso's refusal to offer Hanga an electoral position in the New Nigeria Development Coalition (NDC) demonstrated a lack of appreciation for Hanga's contributions.

Gwangwazo urged Hanga to join Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf in the APC, assuring him that the party would value his membership. Despite this, Hanga has not publicly responded to the APC's invitation and recently reaffirmed his loyalty to Kwankwaso, indicating he held a private meeting with Governor Yusuf to discuss political issues.
