Kwankwaso Commends Tinubu for Kano Airport Funding

Alhaji (Dr.) Iliyasu Musa Kwankwaso, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Director of Finance at the Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority (HJRBDA), praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the Federal Government’s approval of ₦46 billion for the resurfacing and reconstruction of the second runway at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport. Kwankwaso described the approval as a demonstration of Tinubu's commitment to the development of Northern Nigeria, stating it would enhance commercial activities in the region.

He urged Northerners to recognize positive government initiatives, regardless of political affiliations. Kwankwaso also acknowledged the contributions of key figures, including Dr.

Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and Festus Keyamo, in securing the approval. Keyamo announced that 60% of the contract sum has been released, and work has commenced on the project, which aims to modernize the airport and reinforce its status as a major aviation hub for Northern Nigeria.
