Keyamo Launches Kano Terminal, Announces N46bn Upgrade

On Tuesday, October 3, 2023, Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, inaugurated the remodeled Muhammadu Adamu Dankabo Domestic Terminal at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport. During the ceremony, he announced a N46 billion investment from the Federal Government for the reconstruction of the airport's second runway.

This initiative is part of efforts to transform Kano into a leading aviation hub in Africa under the Tinubu administration's Renewed Hope Agenda. Keyamo emphasized the airport's strategic importance as a commercial gateway to Northern Nigeria and highlighted the government's commitment to modernizing aviation infrastructure.

He stated that the upgrade would enhance operational efficiency and safety, allowing Kano Airport to compete with international airports. Additionally, work has commenced on upgrading the airport's Hajj Terminal.

The terminal is named after Mallam Muhammadu Dankabo, a pioneer in Nigeria's aviation industry.
