House Committee Finds 'Fake Agency' DG Appointment Doctored

The House of Representatives ad hoc committee investigating the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) concluded that the appointment letter for Mr. Adeniyi Adeyemi as Director General was fabricated. The committee's preliminary report, released on Wednesday, indicated that evidence from the State House confirmed no such appointment was made or approved by the Presidency.

The document was presented as an official communication from the Presidency and falsely bore the authority and signature of Chief of Staff Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, who neither issued nor signed it. The report highlighted discrepancies in the letterhead, reference number, and overall format compared to authentic State House correspondence.

The committee stated that such actions, if proven, would be a serious assault on the integrity of the President's office and warrant serious investigative and prosecutorial action. Additionally, the committee examined another document claiming to establish the Presidential Economic Advisory Council, which also lacked legitimate authorization from the Presidency.
