Cleric Urges Justice and Accountability in Nigeria

During a special prayer session in Arafah, Professor Sokoto addressed the issues of corruption and economic hardship affecting Nigeria. He spoke alongside Sheikh Ali Hudhaifi and cautioned government officials against corrupt practices, reminding them of their accountability to Allah in managing public resources.

Professor Sokoto expressed concern over the suffering of Nigerians despite the country's wealth, highlighting that poverty and hardship continue to impact citizens nationwide. He described corruption as the greatest threat to Nigeria, leading to infrastructure collapse and a lack of trust among the populace.

He urged pilgrims to pray for peace, stability, and tranquility in Nigeria and encouraged them to appreciate the favor of Allah for the opportunity to participate in the 2026 Hajj. He reflected on the significance of Arafah, the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), and the importance of justice and proper management of public resources for a better society.
