Aremu Praises Inclusive Approach in Tinubu's Campaign Council

On 14 September 2026, Issa Aremu, the Director General of the Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies (MINILS) in Ilorin, Kwara State, commended the inclusion of labor, women, youth, people living with disabilities, and civil society in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 Presidential Campaign Council. Aremu, who serves as the Deputy Director of Labour/Union Relations for the council, stated that this broad-based composition reflects the significance of inclusive politics ahead of the elections.

He noted that organized labor's inclusion validates progressive politics and demonstrates Tinubu's commitment to the Decent Work agenda as per the International Labour Organization's recommendations. Aremu highlighted the importance of addressing workers' issues, such as secure employment and living wages, in the campaign.

He congratulated Kebbi State Governor Dr. Nasir Idris on his appointment as Director of Labour/Union Relations, citing his qualifications and achievements in industrial harmony. Aremu also acknowledged the appointments of Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari as Director-General and Hope Uzodimma as Secretary of the council.
