Arewa Youths Commend INEC for Peaceful Osun Election

Arewa Youths praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and Prof. Joash Amupitan for their roles in the peaceful Osun governorship election. In a statement signed by Mallam Kabiru Yusuf in Abuja, the group acknowledged the collective efforts of the people of Osun State and security agencies in ensuring a successful election.

They highlighted the importance of cooperation among the electoral body, voters, political actors, and security agencies in respecting the will of the people. The group commended INEC for its commitment to neutrality, transparency, and adherence to the Electoral Act.

They noted that the peaceful participation of voters is essential for democracy and urged INEC to address any shortcomings identified during the election. The commendation followed the conclusion of the 2026 Osun governorship election, where incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party was declared the winner after securing victory in 19 of the state's 30 local government areas.
