Kogi State Intercepts Arms Shipment, Arrests Three Suspects

In Kogi State, an arms shipment was intercepted, leading to the arrest of three suspects involved in a criminal network. The operation, announced by Noah Ocheni, involved intelligence reports that identified two Volkswagen Golf 2 vehicles used for transporting weapons.

The operation was a collaborative effort between local security forces and the Nigerian Army's 12 Brigade, with support from the Department of State Services. The intelligence operation lasted two weeks and culminated in the recovery of significant weaponry, including two AK-47 rifles, several magazines, and military uniforms believed to be intended for criminal groups.

The weapons were reportedly meant to replenish stockpiles lost during recent security operations against notorious bandit leader Kachalla Battijo. Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo commended the proactive measures taken by security agencies to combat insecurity and assured residents of intensified surveillance operations across strategic locations.
