Kogi Security Operatives Intercept Weapons for Bandits

Security operatives in Kogi State intercepted a cache of weapons intended for criminal elements, as announced by Kingsley Fanwo, the Kogi State Commissioner for Information. The operation was carried out in collaboration with local security agencies and the Nigerian Army's 12 Brigade, following credible intelligence regarding the movement of weapons.

The operation led to the arrest of three suspects in Sokoto State after a two-week covert surveillance. The intercepted items included two AK-47 rifles, several magazines, 67 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, two pistols, and military uniforms.

The intelligence report indicated that these weapons were meant to replenish the stockpile of criminal groups in the state. The Kogi State government aims to counteract attempts by these groups to regroup and rearm, emphasizing the need for intensified surveillance and community cooperation to maintain security.
