Nigerian Army Launches Combat Training Week in Kaduna

The Nigerian Army has initiated its combat training week, scheduled from May 4 to May 8, 2026, at the Jaji Military Cantonment. This annual training exercise aims to enhance combat readiness, operational efficiency, and tactical proficiency among its units.

Polycarp Okoy, the Deputy Director of Army Public Relations at the Infantry Corps Centre, announced that a free medical outreach would take place on May 2, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM for residents of the Birnin Yero community. This outreach is part of the Army's civil-military engagement efforts, providing an opportunity for the Army to assess ongoing operations across various theaters and review strategies to address prevailing security challenges.

The Army has advised residents of Jaji and neighboring communities not to panic at the sound of gunshots during the training period, as the cantonment range is designated as a safe training area for operational reasons.
