Army Chief Waidi Shaibu Inaugurates Refurbished Vehicles

Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), stated that the effectiveness of military operations is closely linked to the availability and serviceability of operational platforms. Speaking at the inauguration of refurbished operational vehicles and the Nightingale Club at 1 Women Battalion in Giri, Abuja, he highlighted that serviceable mobility assets are critical for troop movement in response to operational needs.

The refurbishment of these vehicles aims to enhance troops' mobility, operational responsiveness, and welfare in national security efforts. Represented by Colonel Appolonia Anele, the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Shaibu directed commanders to ensure proper maintenance and responsible handling of the vehicles, emphasizing their status as national resources.

He also described the Nightingale Club as vital for supporting personnel morale and cohesion. Brigadier General Muhammed Sani Adamu, Commander of the Nigerian Army Women Command, echoed this sentiment, noting that a resilient force requires both operational equipment and an enabling environment for personnel welfare.
