Army Chief Waidi Shaibu Highlights Military Readiness

At the commissioning of refurbished operational vehicles and the Nightingale Club at 1 Women Battalion in Giri, Abuja, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), stated that the effectiveness of military operations is closely linked to the availability and serviceability of operational platforms. He highlighted that serviceable mobility assets are crucial for the timely movement of personnel, equipment, and logistics in response to operational needs.

The refurbishment of vehicles aims to enhance troops' mobility and operational responsiveness in national security efforts. Represented by Colonel Appolonia Anele, the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, the COAS directed commanders to ensure proper maintenance and responsible handling of the vehicles, emphasizing their status as national resources.

He also described the Nightingale Club as vital for supporting the morale and wellbeing of military personnel, providing recreational opportunities and fostering camaraderie. Shaibu commended the collective efforts of the 1 Women Battalion leadership and personnel in completing these projects.
