Army Chief Unveils Locally-Made Combat Vehicles in Kaduna

On Wednesday, the Chief of Army Staff, Waidi Shaibu, unveiled locally-made combat vehicles, specifically the Vanquish light combat vehicle, during a ceremony in Kaduna. Shaibu commended the initiative as a significant step in strengthening Nigeria's defense capabilities, representing the growing confidence in the country's indigenous capacity to design and produce military hardware tailored to national security needs.

He praised President Bola Tinubu's defense policy, which aims to promote local products and strengthen indigenous defense manufacturing. The Managing Director of Vanquish Industries Limited, Zach Duwa, described the unveiling as a defining moment for Nigeria's industrial advancement, emphasizing the vehicle's development around principles of protection, mobility, and adaptability to modern security challenges.

Duwa acknowledged the support from the defense industry and highlighted the commitment to innovation and manufacturing excellence, ensuring the safety and success of military operations. The Vanquish light combat vehicle is designed to fulfill multiple mission roles across diverse terrains.
