Army Denies Viral Claims of Troop Allowance Non-Payment

The Theatre Command of the Joint Task Force North East, led by Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, has refuted claims made in a viral video alleging that troops have not received their allowances. The command issued a statement on Sunday, clarifying that all troops are fully paid and that the video is a deliberate attempt to misinform the public and discredit the military command structure.

Uba explained that the funds referenced in the video are not operational allowances and that troops continue to receive ration cash allowances without interruption. The command also noted that additional incentives for troops, provided by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) during exploration activities in Borno State, have ceased due to the cessation of NNPC's exploration activities.

Brigadier General Solomon Diwa assured personnel that concerns regarding payment delays are being addressed. The command warned against the dissemination of unauthorized information that could undermine troop morale and national security efforts.
