Army Foils Bandit Ambush, Recovers AK-47 in Plateau State

Troops of Operation Enduring Peace successfully foiled an ambush by suspected bandits in Langtang North Local Government Area of Plateau State. The operation resulted in the death of one suspect and the arrest of another.

The Nigerian Army reported that the operation was based on intelligence obtained from a suspected bandit who had been arrested earlier. This suspect confessed to his involvement in criminal activities and directed the troops to Nwur village, where he had allegedly hidden a weapon.

Upon arrival at the location, the troops were attacked by members of the suspected criminal group. In the ensuing gun battle, one attacker was killed, and another was apprehended.

A subsequent search of the area led to the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, a magazine, and two rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. The Nigerian Army stated that search operations would continue in the area to locate other members of the bandit group and reaffirmed its commitment to combating criminal elements and restoring peace in Plateau State.
