Troops Neutralize Terrorist, Recover Weapons in Plateau

On Saturday, troops from Sector 2, part of the Joint Task Force Operation ENDURING PEACE, conducted an operation in Zak village, Plateau State, aimed at disrupting terrorist activities. During a stop-and-search operation, they intercepted a green Golf vehicle with registration number DKA-808XM.

Upon searching the vehicle, troops found a concealed compartment in the dashboard. The driver fled into nearby bushes when asked to open it, but was pursued and apprehended.

During the apprehension, he attempted to disarm a soldier and was subsequently neutralized. The operation resulted in the recovery of two AK-47 rifles, magazines, wooden rifle butts, magazine pouches, jungle hats, a mobile phone, and an ATM card.

Major General Maxwell Dangana, Commander of Operation ENDURING PEACE, praised the troops for their decisive actions and urged them to maintain their momentum against criminal elements. He also called on residents to provide timely information to support security efforts in the region.
