Ibom Air Launches Uyo-Accra International Flights

Ibom Air officially began its international operations from Uyo to Accra on June 28, 2026, with flights scheduled twice weekly on Sundays and Thursdays. The airline, managed by Mr. George Uriesi, aims to facilitate seamless transit for passengers traveling from Abuja to Accra via Uyo, enhancing regional connectivity.

This initiative is part of the Akwa Ibom State Government's broader vision to develop the state's aviation sector, which has been supported by Governor Umo Eno's leadership. The new terminal at Uyo Airport is designed to provide a world-class experience for passengers, reflecting dignity and respect.

Ibom Air's operations are expected to significantly improve air travel in Nigeria, despite challenges such as aircraft acquisition and high operational costs.
