Agada Sues Labour Party for Refund Over Primary Disqualification

Dr. Peter Agada, a former aspirant for the Labour Party's presidential ticket, has taken legal action against the party, demanding a full refund of funds he spent in preparation for the presidential primary held on April 28.

Agada, who defected from the Young Progressives Party, accuses the Labour Party leadership of exploiting financial commitments made to him and failing to honor agreements regarding the presidential ticket. He claims he was disqualified just 24 hours before the primary election, despite having been advised by the party's screening committee that there were no provisions for zoning in the party's constitution.

Agada held a press conference in Abuja to confirm that legal proceedings have already commenced against the Labour Party, alleging fraud and insincerity in the party's dealings. He also mentioned that significant financial resources were allocated to build a nationwide campaign structure for the presidential election scheduled for May 6, 2026.
