Labour Party Rejects Agada's N150m Refund Demand

The Labour Party (LP) has dismissed Dr. Peter Agada's demand for a refund of N150 million following his disqualification from the presidential primary. Agada's request included N50 million for the expression of interest nomination form and N100 million as a contribution towards the party's national convention.

The LP's presidential campaign council, led by Temilad Craig, accused Agada of bad faith, alleging that he continued his campaign despite knowing he was ineligible due to the party's zoning arrangements that favor candidates from the South. The party's national public secretary, Ken Asogwa, stated that the decision to zone the presidential ticket to the South was ratified at the national convention on April 28, 2026, and emphasized that Agada's actions were contrary to the party's established policies.

The LP maintained that Agada's disqualification was valid and in accordance with party resolutions, rejecting any claims of conspiracy or unfair treatment.
