ADC Candidate Salaam Promises Jobs and Electricity in Osun

Dr. Najeem Salaam, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for the Osun State governorship election, made significant promises during the Arise News Town Hall on August 15. He committed to restoring Chief Obafemi Awolowo’s progressive legacy and creating 20,000 jobs for youths within 100 days of taking office.

Salaam also promised to ensure 24-hour electricity across the state, emphasizing the implementation of the Electricity Act. His education plan includes free primary and secondary schooling, a review of higher education tuition fees, and free medical treatment for children and pregnant women.

He recalled successful programs from his previous administration between 2010 and 2018, such as O-AMBULANCE for emergency response and O’MEALS for school feeding, which he intends to revive. Salaam's infrastructure agenda focuses on rural electrification and mechanized agriculture, aiming to connect communities and enhance productivity.

He stressed the importance of continuity in governance and the need to prioritize beneficial programs regardless of political differences.
