Atiku Calls for Suspension of Gbajabiamila Over Bribery Claims

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President and candidate of the African Democratic Congress, has requested President Bola Tinubu to suspend Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff, amid allegations of a 400 million naira bribery scandal. This request was made public through a press statement issued on Tuesday by Adeniyi Adeyemi, the Director General of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council.

Atiku emphasized that suspending Gbajabiamila is essential to facilitate an independent investigation into the claims associated with the controversial budgetary allocations. He pointed out that despite Gbajabiamila's assertion that the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council does not exist, the federal government allocated 27.4 billion naira to the agency in the 2026 national budget.

Atiku warned that this contradiction raises serious questions about the integrity of the entire national budget and urged President Tinubu to prioritize the rule of law and transparency in governance.
